FOLK TRAX started as joint venture of Hard Yacka Records and the Folk Federation of SA. It's aim is to provide a shop through which artists could sell their product of SA Folk, Australian Folk, SA Acoustic but also to make available International Folk and World Music.
The management team was Dave Greenslade, John Bowey, Peter Titchener and Henk de Weerd. John took on the responsibility of developing and maintaining the Folk Trax website, Henk became the manager and Dave and Peter took on artists and promotions respectively.
The joint venture with the Folk Federation was ended on the 30th of June 2006. We thank the Folk Federation for their support over the years. At the same time John, Dave and Peter left Folk Trax while Jan de Weerd joined Folk Trax.
The shop is now located at a more convenient location close to the Central Market. You'll find us within the EBI shop, 10 Byron Place Adelaide. The shop is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (exept on public holidays and when we are at festivals) Folk Trax accepts Visa and MasterCard cards both online and at the shop.
The stock for sale through FOLK TRAX is all on consignment. If you have acoustic music related merchandise that you are prepared to consign to us, we will offer it for sale at the FOLK TRAX shop and through this website. Contact us and we will mail you a shipping package with full details.
Members of the Folk Federations of South Australia, New South Wales, Western Australia and Tasmania, and regular readers of Queensland's Folk Rag are offered a 10% discount on purchases made through FOLK TRAX.
